The Powerball jackpot has surged to $925 million in anticipation of the upcoming drawing.

Powerball Jackpot Reaches $925 Million, Among the Largest in History

The next Powerball drawing on Saturday night offers a potential jackpot of approximately $925 million. This marks the fourth-largest prize in the history of the American lottery game and the second largest of the year, as stated in a Powerball press release.

The grand prize, estimated to be worth $432.4 million in cash, exceeded the $900 million mark because no ticket matched all six numbers in the Wednesday night draw. However, four tickets sold in California, Kansas, Maryland, and New York matched all five white balls, earning their holders $1 million each, according to Powerball.

The last jackpot win occurred on July 19 when a California ticket matched all five white balls and the red Powerball, securing a prize of $1.08 billion. Since then, there have been 30 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.

Winners of the jackpot can choose to receive the money as an immediate cash lump sum or as 30 annual payments over 29 years. Both options do not include federal and jurisdictional taxes.

The jackpot size increases based on ticket sales and interest, but the odds of winning the top prize remain constant at 1 in 292.2 million, as per Powerball.

Powerball tickets are priced at $2 and are available for purchase in 45 U.S. states, Washington, D.C.,https://universalsphare.com/ Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

You can watch Powerball drawings live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Additionally, the drawings are livestreamed online at Powerball.com.
