Johnny Depp’s upcoming animated movie, ‘Johnny Puff: Secret Mission,’ has successfully secured distribution agreements for German-speaking Europe (Little Brother), Korea (AK Entertainment), Spain (Melies), Portugal (NOS Audiovisuais), the Middle East (FrontRow), and Turkey (Wediacorp) in anticipation of the American Film Market (AFM) later this month.
Directed by Nestor F. Dennis and inspired by the popular Puffins series, the film stars Johnny Depp as the titular character, Johnny Puff, and is produced by Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment (Ferrari).
In the forthcoming film, “Johnny Puff: Secret Mission,” the titular character, Johnny Puff, embarks on a heroic quest alongside his Puffin companions to rescue their cherished village, Taigasville, from the nefarious schemes of the villainous Otto von Walrus. Currently, discussions are in progress regarding the distribution of the film in North America, with plans to release it in the first quarter of 2024 before its international debut.
A distinctive feature of the Puffins franchise, to which this film belongs, is the adoption of an idiosyncratic dialect by the characters. Johnny Depp, who plays Johnny Puff, has previously described this dialect as a fusion of his own voice and authentic Puffin vocalizations.
